For Children

Programs and services especially for children.

Our philosophy is to foster the love of books and reading in each child.

Our Children's Room is located in the lower level of the Library.  You may enter from the upstairs or use the ramp entrance.  We have a very welcoming atmosphere!  Besides our wonderful collection of books; we have movies and magazines to browse.  Our Library also has Story bags to circulate.  Each story bag has a different theme, containing about 3 books, an activity sheet, and an item that identifies with that theme.  MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and the Glenwood Public Library teamed together to make these available for loan.

Story & Craft Time:  Everyone is welcome to come to the Library's Story Time. The program is every Tuesday at 10am for ages 0-5 and 4pm for ages 5 and older which will include stories, rhymes, songs and crafts. Parents/caregivers please stay with your child(ren) and enjoy story/craft time too!

Summer Reading Program: Each year the library offers a 8-week reading extravaganza known as the "Summer Reading Program."  Children read books for prizes! In addition, we have dozens of free events throughout the summer.  Find out about our current Summer Reading Program by visiting this website's Calendar of Events.
