Use a Computer
The library has public computers with Internet access. This describes what we have and how to use them.
Glenwood Public Library has 7 public computers with free Internet access. These computers are located near the Adult Circulation Desk. Our library also has WiFi available throughout the building, so if you want to bring in your own laptop to use the Internet, we welcome you! We also offer 3 laptops for in-library use when the wired public computers are occupied. The WiFi installation and purchase of the laptops were made possible by a grant from the Schildberg Foundation.
Computers may be used for a period of 1 hour. To use the public computers you must read the Internet Use Policy and sign an agreement to the terms. Because our Internet computers are not filtered, if you are under the age of 18, your parent or guardian must also read the policy and agree to the terms before you will be allowed to use the Internet. Laptop computers have a different policy governing their use. A deposit of your valid driver's license and/or a valid credit card will be requested upon checking out a laptop. No one under the age of 16 will be able to check out a laptop to use in the library. A fine of $25.00 per hour is assessed if the laptop is not returned on time. A replacement fee of $1,600.00 is assessed plus overdue fines if laptop is stolen while checked out, not returned or damaged.
